Nau mai, haere mai ki tēnei taonga

Welcome to our class blog for learning. This is where all of the teachers of 11M will share what's happening throughout the school year in class and with student mahi.

  1. Kia ora 10 M. Today we started the first lesson in our Softball unit. I know I taught most of you last year and some have got some very good skills but we really need to re-visit / refresh the fundamentals. Something that stood out to me were the students who found ways to do as little as possible in the lesson. OK - you had a change of gear and got warmed up with a partner but then hung our on the fringes and didn't engage with the rest of the class. One student decided to put as much catcher's gear on as possible and was just silly and completely unnecessary. What I'd like from you are suggestions on how the softball unit should progress where we all have the opportunity to learn / develop our skills to the best of our ability given we only have 8 lessons remaining. We need to make excellent use of our time and I am looking for students to take on the leadership roles within the class.
Finally - I need to say this: a number of you do make the learning environment more challenging than it has to be. Far more of you are doing a great job of enhancing the learning environment with your positive efforts and caring and inclusiveness shown towards others - especially those who feel their skills aren't that great.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
